Chobham Farm Zone 2. Completion of Sale.

LCR completed the sale of this site on 31st March 2017 to Higgins Homes plc for £14.5m. It comprises approximately 2.9 acres and has planning consent for 154 housing units consisting of apartments, rising to 7 storeys on the Penny Brookes Street frontage, maisonettes on the northern part of the site and a small quantity of commercial floor space. 35% of the housing units will be affordable. An important feature is the linear park comprising over one acre which will serve both this site and the adjoining Zone 3 site to the east.

The development will also provide a new access to the Zone 1 site adjoining the northern boundary of Zone 2. Construction works are underway and the development should be completed before the summer of 2020.

The site forms part of Chobham Farm North in Stratford for which outline planning consent was granted in February 2014 for mainly residential development and follows the successful sale and development of Zones 1 (East Thames Partnership) and Zone 4 (Telford Homes). LCR also owns part of Zone 3 plus Zone 5 and discussions are ongoing with adjoining owners, LB of Newham and London Legacy Development Corporation to bring forward these Zones for residential development.
