LCR's Leake Street Arches shortlisted for a New London Architecture (NLA) Award

12th June 2018

With the phase one of LCR’s Leake Street Arches development nearly complete, we are delighted to report that the project has just been short listed in the Public Spaces category for the NLA Awards.

New London Architecture (NLA) is an independent forum for discussion, debate and information about architecture, planning, development and construction in the capital. Their core mission is to bring people together to shape a better city.

The NLA’s annual New London Awards, presented in association with the Mayor of London, celebrate the very best architecture, planning and development schemes that are making the capital a better place in which to live, work and play.

Over 150 projects across 15 categories have been shortlisted. Categories included Conservation and Retrofit, Culture and Community, Educations, Homes, Hotels & Hospitality, Housing, Masterplans, Meanwhile Use, Mixed Use, Offices, Public Spaces, Retail, Transport & Infrastructure and Wellbeing.

Having demonstrated how the project has given new life to the Waterloo area through public realm improvements, Leake Street Arches has been shortlisted in the Public Spaces category alongside Canal Corridor, Connecting Colliers Wood, Eltham High Street, Goodluck Hope, Grosvenor Hill Public Realm and Wilkins Terrace.

Coinciding with the London Festival of Architecture (which runs from 1st to 30th June) Londoners are invited to select their favourite from the shortlist for the People’s Choice Award. Please click here to vote for Leake Street Arches (you can submit your vote via Twitter OR a short form).

The NLA Annual Lunch will be held at the Guildhall on Wednesday 4 July, when all category winners, People’s Choice and the New Londoner of the Year will be announced.
