Graffiti Grotto: Miracle on Leake Street Returns

Miracle on Leake Street is back, with more Christmas cheer than ever. The wintery wonderland is returning to Waterloo’s historic Leake Street Arches, as it’s once again converted from urban haven to festive fun fair.

From Tuesday 17 December, the Arches will be home to a collection of independent entertainers and traders to celebrate the most wonderful time of year.

This year’s event will be opened in style by cross-dressing crooner, Alexander Luttley, leading a Burlesque class and cabaret performance.

Also cranking up the cheer will be @VAULTFestival, the organisers of London’s biggest arts festival. They’ll be holding the office Christmas party of your dreams: big bowls of punch, crackers and bad Christmas jumpers – the worse the better – while Elf will be showing on the big screen under the Arches

Run by @WeAreWaterlooUK and @SouthBankBID, Miracle on Leake Street will be on daily from 5-9pm, and will still feature all of the Leake Street favourites, including Banh Bao Brothers, Aures London and many more.

The event is free for all but, in the spirit of giving, donations are welcome and all proceeds will go to the Waterloo Action Centre, a public space run for and by the local community for the past 40 years.

LCR has led the regeneration of the Arches from an underused network of street tunnels to a vibrant urban oasis, buzzing with independent traders, restaurants and bars and unique street art across the 23,250 sq. ft space.

Leake Street Arches is part of the ongoing redevelopment of Waterloo Station, Waterloo.London, set to open in April 2021 and become a new benchmark for retail destinations at travel hubs.
